The character of Martha is the ideal candidate for President. She has led such an extraordinary life up to the point of her deciding she wanted to run for office. When most people dream of what they want to be when they grow up they choose one or two professions. Not Martha Stetson. She chooses to make the most out of her life by becoming a doctor, helicopter pilot, congress woman, and finally the highest office of President. She never gave up in her fight to become the 1st woman President even while others were telling her to wait. I highly recommend this book to everyone who has ever considered a woman President.
